Camera Passion Re-discovered!

It is finalized, I am going to be a wedding photographer My new website is under construction and I can’t tell you how excited I am for this new adventure!!

You might ask how I know, that it is the right thing for me to do?

Well, yesterday I was surfing the web about all different aspects of photography and found some great advice, that goes perfectly with my poem by Mark Twain. Setting goals, living the dream, exploring, saying good bye to the shores of shelter..

The one article that talked about setting goals also talked about getting to know your gear. That kinda hit me hard. Of course I know my camera, I don’t use auto-anything and my pictures come out nice and people like them. Think again Miss!

Somehow this gave me the energy to take out my camera and I ventured out into manual mode and some menu settings. I played around for a while, exploring my sweet black baby and was amazed how much more I can get out of my camera!!! Seriously, have you ever used manual mode? I never did and I can’t believe how much control I have over my pictures now!!

Here a few samples, no Photoshop involved (other than resizing for web use of course..) and remember, these are my very first pics, using manual mode..

Nope, not even adjusted the colors, this is all straight from the camera, even the black and white!

I learned two new things and I have found my old passion for photography once again! That is why I know that I am good enough to go out there, make myself vulnerable and get started! Sure, I might crash hard, but I know it is the right thing to do at the right time. Sometimes you just know.

Now we only need a way to solve the financial part of the project… Camera gear adds up quickly, especially if you have certain standards

Date Saturday

Just a quick ‘Hello’ and ‘No, I’m not dead’ post Yeah, haven’t had that much time lately to blog and show stuff cause I’ve been keeping myself busy with some (not so) new ideas for the future!! I’m just saying ‘Wedding Photography’ for now. I had the idea a few years ago and almost jumped right into it last year, but chickened out in the end. I didn’t feel comfortable enough and just needed time. When I read this the first time, I knew I have to give it a serious shot! Now! Or I might never do it….

Oh well, I did tell you a bit more than I intended Anyways, it can’t be bad, cause now I can’t let YOU down, right?? I’m definitely excited what kinda doors this will open up for me.

20110906 date1 Date Saturday Usually we do date nights on Tuesday (so we get the Tuesday special for the movies), but last Saturday we went to the store to buy some goodies and headed out to the park to have our picnic. It was so much fun! I had the idea to ask each other 5 serious questions (which wasn’t exactly easy, cause we know so much about each other ) and it felt so right!

Fascination: Golden Gate Bridge

Happy Monday (evening) everyone Hope you had a great weekend!

Adrian was planning on booking a hotel in Napa for the two of us on Friday and he was all excited since it was a total surprise for me (he really likes to spoil me heeee lucky lucky meeeee ). Well, on Thursday night he told me about his great surprise and that it’s not gonna happen… All the places were either booked out already or extreeeeemly expensive! (I’m talking about a two star motel that has a rate of 200 per night!!!) So we decided to go on a short one-day road trip instead on Saturday. Here a few snapshots…. It’s hard to oversee my fascination with the Golden Gate Bridge heeeee

On Sunday I decided it was time to finally clean out Jynxy’s cage plus give him a much much MUCH needed bath! This little bugger loooves to sleep in his poop box… His fur gets all nasty and greasy and you can’t imagine the stink when he runs pass you (while comfortably cuddling on the couch….) yuck! Oh, and it gets even worse if he jumps right on top of you – you have to take a shower to get rid of his stinky foot prints heeeee

So here a few pictures on that as well He’s super cute when he gets a bath. He actually takes it quiet well (not that he’s enjoying it….)

All righy, I have to get ready now! Adrian came home and announced that we’re driving up to Los Gatos to give our top favorite Thai restaurant (Thai Spice on Santa Cruz Ave) a visit heeeee Can’t wait to stuff myself with that yummy food……

Today

Today is the perfect kinda day to have a little random post with lots of picy pictures Just about 15min ago I checked Amazon for the status of my last purchase and it said ‘arrived’! I ran out the door and picked up my new treasure at the office! It’s the perfect kinda day to get myself and the equipment ready for some serious filming that I wanna do tomorrow – for my very first ONLINE CLASS!! heeeeee I guess I shouldn’t tell you more just yet, but soon I will Can’t wait to finally let you in on the secret life I have been living the last few weeks…. There’s A LOT been going on and I have never been more busy with preparing, e-mailing, planing, collecting ideas and crafting! It’s been a good few weeks tough and I hope to continue with what I have started here!

Anywhoooo.. (my Dad’s probably thinking to himself: she did it again! It’s anyways, not anywho! heeeee But I like the sound of it much better ) Here are a few pictures of ‘today’! Nope, I’m not doing Ali’s ‘A Week In the Life’ Class, but these pics definitely made me think if I should do a project like that…

1. the apartment is definitely getting too small now! Boxes of supplies are growing higher next to my desk…

2. Getting to know our Video Camera once again – it was a wedding gift from my parents (which celebrate their 22. Anniversary today!!! ) but I’m more a photo camera girl

Hi World!

UPDATE: if you don’t wanna read blabla about loosing weight… skip the next three paragraphs

Did you know that work out can be addictive?? So, I heard of that symptom, but I would never in a million years believe that! (I mean come on! Who likes sweating and an overly red head..??) Anyways. I had to find out the hard way that it is absolutely true I started working out again, maybe 2 months ago..? And gosh, it is really addicting! Seriously, I go three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), do my 30 min stair walk session and burn 350 calories each time while watching HGTV It feels good and afterwards I feel awake (which I can’t always say on Tuesday, Thursday and the weekend…) heee

Also I have been able to loose some weight with it plus adapting a healthier eating habit. Before I went to Switzerland in March I was about 139 lb which I know is not way too much, but for a 21 year old it’s still ‘enough’ (I mean, I don’t mind to get a bit more chubby once I’m a mommy and all, but now…??) We started to eat better meaning eating more veggies and most of all – controlling our portions! Oh, and (almost) no junk food either! I quickly went down to 135, 134 pounds but I was not able to drop it more than that. I got really frustrated, cause there’s still some ‘junk’ surrounding me, that I wouldn’t mind to say good bye to… Anywho.. A few days ago I stepped onto the scale again and my jaw dropped – I was down at 132!

I think my body finally got it, that I will take good care of it. I’m feeding myself, so that I don’t have way too much, but also not way too less. I found the perfect balance. And the best part of it is, that I still can eat pizza for dinner once in a while or stuff myself with yummy chocolate bars in the theater (what we did last night… ) I hope to get down to 125lb during the next few months – and keep it there. I think it’s quiet a good goal to have in mind.

Okay, that above was NOT planned at all Hope I didn’t talk your ears off… heee

So, to the layout now! (Gosh, I talked A LOT about all that other crap today…) I made this page just for fun! yay (oh, and I had A LOT of fun figuring out the background structure ) I wanted to celebrate the friendship between two besties: Andrea and me Oh well, I don’t think I need to explain any more.. Watch the video guys I made it especially for you blog readers (and youtube subscribers…) heee

BTW, if you were at CHA and have visited the Crate Paper booth, you might have spotted a similar layout I think I will be able to share that one with you sometimes this or next week heeheee
