12 Days of Christmas – Day 3

Envelope Pillow Cases

At IKEA I got some really cheap pillows (INNER, 2.99 each) that are nice and full and perfect for craft projects! Today I will show you how I made some really easy Envelope Pillow Cases and tomorrow we will talk about making them pretty icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 3 So check back tomorrow to complete this project icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 3

You’ll need: INNER Pillow, White Fabric, Sewing Machine, Pins

1. Cut your white fabric into shape. You will need one 33×16″ and one 20×16″ panel. Zigzag the edges so they don’t fray and sew the two panels on the 16″ edge together (see first picture)

2. Lay the piece of fabric on a flat surface, right side up, and place the pillow on the bigger panel, close to the seam. Now wrap up the pillow and make sure it is nice and snug on the two shorter ends.

3. Start to pin and gently take out your pillow. Sew both long edges together, turn the case right side out and you are good to go icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 3

Christmas in the Air

Today I want to share with you a few really great ways to get that Christmas scent in the air. Of course you can always lit a scented candle, but usually they don’t work that great… But if you want your whole house to smell like Christmas then you should definitely give my brews a try icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 2

Orange & Cloves

Ingredients: 1 Orange (Skin), 10 Whole Cloves, Water

Directions: Fill up a pan about half with water and get it to a boil. In the meantime peal the orange (eat the juicy fruit icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 2 ) and put the skin into the water. Add your whole cloves and let the brew simmer on small flame. Your house will smell amazingly within short time!!

Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients: Apple Juice, Cinnamon Stick, Whole Cloves, Water

Directions: In a pan, bring about 2 cups of water and 6 cups of apple juice to a boil. Add the cinnamon stick and about 10 whole cloves and let simmer on small flame. Not only will your house smell in the highest notes, but you will have hot apple cider that you can drink and share with your guests! (really really yummy and a great hit at our place icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 2 ) This tastes really good also on the second day, after it has been cold overnight. Welcome, Gallery Walls and Giveaway

Welcome welcome to our little ’12 Days of Christmas’ Blog Party icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 1 Come on in and make yourselves all cozy and homy and let’s get started with some Christmas preparing, decorating, baking and so on!

Let’s kick this off with some simple ideas for blank, boring walls!

A few months ago I tackled two of my walls and made them into galleries, where I would display all kinds of different artwork, pretty paper, world maps and what-not… I found all the frames at our local Dollar Store and spray painted them white for a cohesive look.

Now with Christmas around the corner I wanted to change it up a little. I painted a bunch of different watercolor pieces, hung reindeer antlers and a branch for some contrast. But look for yourselves icon smile 12 Days of Christmas Day 1

I made this page about Dexter, when we just got him. At that time he was about seven weeks old and boy, has he grown since then!! Just today he’s learned to jump on the counter top in the kitchen! I haven’t seen him doing it yet, but he’s been up there several times. Also he loves to sit on the windows sill and watch the cars outside icon wink CP Showcase He’s a crazy little cutsie pie!
