Bedazzled Candles

I seriously love to bedazzle about anything! Shoes, lamps, ornaments, picture frames… you name it! So today I have a quick and glitterful project for you guys icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 6 Hope you enjoy it icon smile 12 Days of Christmas Day 6

You’ll need: Candle, Glitter, Permanent and Clear Drying Glue (Jewel It), Brush

Squeeze out some glue on a plate or piece of scrap paper. Start picking up quiet a lot of glue with the brush and start painting the candle. You want to work in vertical sections so the glue doesn’t dry before you’re ready to glitter.

Once you have a section (about 1/3 of the candle) pour the glitter onto the candle and DON’T TOUCH at any time! The flatter the glue, the nicer the end result, so make sure you don’t have any pumps of glue before you use glitter.

Bedroom Decorating

Since our bedroom also is my studio / work space, it is very important for me, that it gets some Christmas cheer as well as the other rooms of our lovely little home.

I started out by taking out my IKEA Christmas bedding – what a difference that made!! Then I hung a watercolor painting, a single reindeer antler and decorated it with shiny ornaments icon smile 12 Days of Christmas Day 5

PS: see how pretty my Woodsy Pillows are?? icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 5

Adrian’s nightstand got a vase filled with black stones (both from the Dollar store) on top of some books, wrapped in silver and white wrapping paper. I added some branches to that vase and hung a few more ornaments…

( I just love the contrast of those branches icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 5 )

My side of the bed is held simple with two pictures as backdrop, a little basked for those necessities like lip balm & co and one tall taper candle.

To finish it all up I transformed the shelf overneath my workspace into a winter wonderland with some cheap white Christmas trees (Dollar Store), a scented candle and some planters from IKEA. Also I filled up one of my decorative bird cages with some cheap silver ornaments – that gives it that final bling bling moment icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 5

Woodsy Pillow Cases

When I saw this idea on one of my daily walks in the big dark forest of the internet, I knew I had to make some of those cases myself!

It is actually very easy to make, but takes a few hours if you want to stencil as many trees as I did icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 4

You’ll need: Fabric Color (find at JoAnn’s or Michael’s), Stipple Brush, Pillow Case, Cardboard

1. Start out this project by drawing some simple trees on a piece of paper. Cut that out and use it as a pattern on cardboard, trace it and cut out as well. I preferred to use my exacto knife to get those sharp corners of the trees. However, I made only three different shapes – make more if you want a bigger variety.

2. Before you start to paint, lay a piece of cardboard or a bunch of newspaper in between the pillowcase! If you don’t do this you will end up having ugly paint stains on the backside of the case, since the paint likes to go through the fabric…

3. Place your stencils, squeeze out some paint on a plate and start stippling! Use enough paint and always stipple vertical so the edges get nice and crisp.

4. Once you’re done, let it dry at least 24 hours (or see directions of your paint) and have lots of fun with your pillow icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 4

Envelope Pillow Cases

At IKEA I got some really cheap pillows (INNER, 2.99 each) that are nice and full and perfect for craft projects! Today I will show you how I made some really easy Envelope Pillow Cases and tomorrow we will talk about making them pretty icon wink 12 Days of Christmas Day 3 So check back tomorrow to complete this project icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 3

You’ll need: INNER Pillow, White Fabric, Sewing Machine, Pins

1. Cut your white fabric into shape. You will need one 33×16″ and one 20×16″ panel. Zigzag the edges so they don’t fray and sew the two panels on the 16″ edge together (see first picture)

2. Lay the piece of fabric on a flat surface, right side up, and place the pillow on the bigger panel, close to the seam. Now wrap up the pillow and make sure it is nice and snug on the two shorter ends.

3. Start to pin and gently take out your pillow. Sew both long edges together, turn the case right side out and you are good to go icon biggrin 12 Days of Christmas Day 3
