A few weeks back I saw this amazing glitter splatter technique over at Ania-Maria, a very talented crafter. Somehow I just couldn’t forget that glittery goodness and had to wrap my mind around this. How did she make those splatters?? And then it finally hit me! Watered down glue! Immediately I had to try it and the effect was amazing!!! I seriously use it on pretty much EVERY project I do at the moment…
I finally got my video up and running on how to achieve the glittery splatter look… Hope you like it
Above: The supplies I have been using for this video. In the jar on the right hand I store my watered down glue. Don’t shake it or the lid will stick REALLY bad and you won’t be able to open it up
Below: The different kinds of splattering – do a few samples to get to know the technique before you do it on a layout
Below: Here is the sample of my favorite splattering techniques/supplies. For a matte Black or White I like to use either Mister Huey by Studio Calico or watered down acrylic paint.
Okay, hope you learned something today
Happy Scrappin’
I’ve been super busy during the last few days (well, who isn’t busy the week before Christmas…?) I’ve made like a gazillion layouts and other projects since I have to work ahead as much as possible for the trip. More details on that in a sec. Here a sneak on one of the pages
Gotta show you that new technique I came up with the other day, making REAL glitter splatters!!! A.MA.ZING!
Soon soon.
Oh yeah, and yesterday I colored my hair once again
I know, I look like 18 or so, but now I seriously look like 16
One good thing comes from that: when I’m 50 I (hopefully) won’t look like 50
ha!
And now to the trip….. We had to cancel our hotels in Jackson and Silver Gate, because there’s barely any snow up there right now (according to WeatherUnderground) so we are planning on leaving in the end of January. It’s a bummer, but there’s really no point in going without a ton of snow
Soooo, we’re trying to be excited about Christmas once again and see what happens with the trip. Things like that show me how small we really are and how amazing it is to have a God that is so so so much bigger and stands over all our itty bitty problems
All righty, I let you get back to all the Christmas preparations
Merry Christmas
Just zooming in from Birthday activities (Adrian is turning 26 today
and I am super excited, because I love to give him presents…..
) to share a quick tip with you!
I don’t know if you work the same way as me, but I need to ‘see‘ my scrap stuff in order to use it on my pages. A few days back I made this little test of embossing powders so I can see the difference between Clear and White on white cardstock – long story short – by accident I found a cool way that helps me to remember techniques and products!
Yesterday I played around with a little flower (Michael’s or JoAnn’s) and it’s so inspirational! I used Glitter Glue, Clear and Silver Nailpolish (silver looks really great!!) and Glimmer Glaze.
I know, the effects are kinda hard to see on this picture, but you get the general idea, right?
Hope this inspires you to try new things and use new techniques on your next project
Happy Scrappin’ and Merry Christmas ♥
Christmas Bowl
Hey Guys… Sorry for this crazy delay today! I was working on some American Crafts Deadlines for next month – yeah, we are doing stuff in January – more to that soon
And then this afternoon we went to look at the Redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains. What an amazing drive that was
However, I wanted to share with you a super simple way to give your living room some Christmas cheer… Remember when I shared the antler pictures with you some time ago? Well, I simply added some more goodies to my bowl; ornaments, a sea star and some different pine cones and voila! Quick and easy and makes quiet the difference
The pictures aren’t amazing, but I don’t have time to get the better ones from my camera right now… Hope you understand
Merry Christmas ♥
