Elle’s Studio Layout

I’ve made this Layout a few weeks back about my lovely birds on the Christmas Tree. Don’t worry, the tree is gone long ago, but I had to do a page about them as they were kinda the focal point of my decorations…

As you can see I did my Glitter Splatter Technique and used some of my new Stamps :D I love the embossed snowflakes… lalaaa ;)

Elle from Elle’s Studio really does an amazing job with her tags! They are super versatile and you can snip & snap them to shape. My favorite thing with them is to crunch them a bit and then distress them to give some texture.

Hope you have a great Sunday y’all :)

Pictures With My New Lens

It may sound really silly when I tell you, how I was begging Adrian NOT to buy me that expensive lens. I really didn’t want him to go and buy me that huge Sigma 70-200/2.8 OS for Christmas… For sure, it was kinda like throwing out money when you have to rent photo gear – especially when you are planing on getting one anytime soon anyways, but still.. (we wanted to rent the lens for the Yellowstone trip)

It may sound really silly when I tell you now, that I was almost crying when I unwrapped that second last present and I saw the black box with the Sigma logo peak through… Seriously, I was half crying and half laughing and telling him like a million times that he was a crazy man ;)

Of course we had to go out and try it right away ;) So after church on Sunday the 25th we went to Carmel Valley near Monterrey and took that one little side road called ‘Robinson Valley Rd’ and oh my goodness, we saw SO many animals! There were dears, all kind of birds, hawks, turkeys, a hare with his bird-buddy and…. a bobcat!!

oh, and not to forget the ‘Crazy Man’ ;)

What are your crazy Christmas Stories / Memories this year??

Just an Update…

I’ve been super busy during the last few days (well, who isn’t busy the week before Christmas…?) I’ve made like a gazillion layouts and other projects since I have to work ahead as much as possible for the trip. More details on that in a sec. Here a sneak on one of the pages :) Gotta show you that new technique I came up with the other day, making REAL glitter splatters!!! A.MA.ZING! :D Soon soon.

Oh yeah, and yesterday I colored my hair once again ;) I know, I look like 18 or so, but now I seriously look like 16 ;) One good thing comes from that: when I’m 50 I (hopefully) won’t look like 50 ;) ha!

And now to the trip….. We had to cancel our hotels in Jackson and Silver Gate, because there’s barely any snow up there right now (according to WeatherUnderground) so we are planning on leaving in the end of January. It’s a bummer, but there’s really no point in going without a ton of snow ;) Soooo, we’re trying to be excited about Christmas once again and see what happens with the trip. Things like that show me how small we really are and how amazing it is to have a God that is so so so much bigger and stands over all our itty bitty problems :)

All righty, I let you get back to all the Christmas preparations :D

Merry Christmas :D

Bedazzled Candles

I seriously love to bedazzle about anything! Shoes, lamps, ornaments, picture frames… you name it! So today I have a quick and glitterful project for you guys :D Hope you enjoy it :)

You’ll need: Candle, Glitter, Permanent and Clear Drying Glue (Jewel It), Brush

Squeeze out some glue on a plate or piece of scrap paper. Start picking up quiet a lot of glue with the brush and start painting the candle. You want to work in vertical sections so the glue doesn’t dry before you’re ready to glitter.

Once you have a section (about 1/3 of the candle) pour the glitter onto the candle and DON’T TOUCH at any time! The flatter the glue, the nicer the end result, so make sure you don’t have any pumps of glue before you use glitter.

Merry Christmas ♥
