MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Oh my! This month just flew by like nobody else’s business!

In Switzerland we celebrate the Christmas Eve and we would either go to my Grandparent’s or celebrate as family at home. If we stayed at home my Dad would take us kids out to do something fun – or just watch a kids movie with us upstairs (yeah, movies were that special when I grew up icon wink MERRY CHRISTMAS!! ) In the meantime my Mom would decorate the house and start cooking. Sometimes I would be able to set and decorate the table with greenery and candles and I tell you what: I loved it!

After eating really good food and drinking “Sauser” which is a non-alcoholic, bubbly grape juice and for special occasions only (at least in our family) we would listen to the Christmas Story, sing songs and finally after eating Christmas cookies we would unwrap our presents – one person and one present at a time (so it would take at least like an hour until we were all done icon wink MERRY CHRISTMAS!! )

I think one of my favorite gifts was a microscope that I got when I was 11. I LOVED that thing icon wink MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (I wanted to become a wild biologist at that time and go up to the Yukon to study wolves and grizzlies icon wink MERRY CHRISTMAS!! )

What are your traditions? Did you keep yours when you got married??

Anyways, all of you: HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! icon biggrin MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Hope you all will have a wonderful time with family and friends and don’t forget what this holiday is all about, all righty?? icon smile MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Here’s a song I really really love to listen to. Taylor Momsen – Christmas, Why Can’t I Find You?

Merry Christmas y’all icon biggrin MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Just an Update…

I’ve been super busy during the last few days (well, who isn’t busy the week before Christmas…?) I’ve made like a gazillion layouts and other projects since I have to work ahead as much as possible for the trip. More details on that in a sec. Here a sneak on one of the pages icon smile Just an Update... Gotta show you that new technique I came up with the other day, making REAL glitter splatters!!! A.MA.ZING! icon biggrin Just an Update... Soon soon.

fun004 net Just an Update...Oh yeah, and yesterday I colored my hair once again icon wink Just an Update... I know, I look like 18 or so, but now I seriously look like 16 icon wink Just an Update... One good thing comes from that: when I’m 50 I (hopefully) won’t look like 50 icon wink Just an Update... ha!

And now to the trip….. We had to cancel our hotels in Jackson and Silver Gate, because there’s barely any snow up there right now (according to WeatherUnderground) so we are planning on leaving in the end of January. It’s a bummer, but there’s really no point in going without a ton of snow icon wink Just an Update... Soooo, we’re trying to be excited about Christmas once again and see what happens with the trip. Things like that show me how small we really are and how amazing it is to have a God that is so so so much bigger and stands over all our itty bitty problems icon smile Just an Update...

All righty, I let you get back to all the Christmas preparations icon biggrin Just an Update...

It pays out…

…to not give up icon wink It pays out...

Some time back I was chatting with my sister on Skype while painting a little scene of birch trees. All of the sudden she would hear “Oh great, I totally messed this one up!” and I was about to throw the painting away. But nonono, she said I should not give up so easily!

To show her what I was talking about I took a few shots during not giving up…

The result came out quiet nicely icon smile It pays out...

A few days later I made another one (can you tell I’m a creature of habit……?) and I like that one even more icon smile It pays out...

Why I’m sharing this with you? Well, because I wanted to demonstrate that giving up is (almost) never a good option icon smile It pays out... And that doesn’t only count for painting or scrapbooking icon wink It pays out...

Enough emotional talk!

Quick Tip

Just zooming in from Birthday activities (Adrian is turning 26 today icon biggrin Quick Tip icon biggrin Quick Tip icon biggrin Quick Tip and I am super excited, because I love to give him presents….. icon wink Quick Tip ) to share a quick tip with you!

I don’t know if you work the same way as me, but I need to ‘see‘ my scrap stuff in order to use it on my pages. A few days back I made this little test of embossing powders so I can see the difference between Clear and White on white cardstock – long story short – by accident I found a cool way that helps me to remember techniques and products!

Yesterday I played around with a little flower (Michael’s or JoAnn’s) and it’s so inspirational! I used Glitter Glue, Clear and Silver Nailpolish (silver looks really great!!) and Glimmer Glaze.

I know, the effects are kinda hard to see on this picture, but you get the general idea, right?

Hope this inspires you to try new things and use new techniques on your next project icon biggrin Quick Tip
