Oh my! This month just flew by like nobody else’s business!
In Switzerland we celebrate the Christmas Eve and we would either go to my Grandparent’s or celebrate as family at home. If we stayed at home my Dad would take us kids out to do something fun – or just watch a kids movie with us upstairs (yeah, movies were that special when I grew up
) In the meantime my Mom would decorate the house and start cooking. Sometimes I would be able to set and decorate the table with greenery and candles and I tell you what: I loved it!
After eating really good food and drinking “Sauser” which is a non-alcoholic, bubbly grape juice and for special occasions only (at least in our family) we would listen to the Christmas Story, sing songs and finally after eating Christmas cookies we would unwrap our presents – one person and one present at a time (so it would take at least like an hour until we were all done
)
I think one of my favorite gifts was a microscope that I got when I was 11. I LOVED that thing
(I wanted to become a wild biologist at that time and go up to the Yukon to study wolves and grizzlies
)
What are your traditions? Did you keep yours when you got married??
Anyways, all of you: HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Hope you all will have a wonderful time with family and friends and don’t forget what this holiday is all about, all righty??
Here’s a song I really really love to listen to. Taylor Momsen – Christmas, Why Can’t I Find You?
Merry Christmas y’all
